A Givealittle page has been set up to raise money for Blaketown pensioner Roy Arbon, who is in prison in Western Australia awaiting trial on charges of importing cocaine.

So far $1451 has been raised.

The webpage said he was a "good man who needs fairness and justice".

According to friends, Mr Arbon had lost a lot of money in scams.

Friend David Renwick said Mr Arbon had his first private visit recently, from a mountaineering acquaintance from Fox Glacier, who now lives near Perth.

Mr Arbon, a retired beekeeper, was caught at the Australian border with 6kg of cocaine hidden in the lining of his bag after returning from South America.
