Christchurch police forced to shoot dog

Christchurch police have had to kill a dog during a search this morning.

Police executed a search warrant at a Yaldhurst Road property, which is known to the police for flouting the law.

A dog at the property was attacking a police dog, so they were forced to shoot it.

Senior sergeant Vaughn Lapslie says the area of the search was cordoned off.

Vaughn Lapslie says investigations are still continuing at the address.
