A body has been found at Wintec's Rotokauri campus in Hamilton this afternoon.

Police, the Fire Service and St John were called to the Avalon Dr campus at 1.35pm today.

Waikato District Command Centre Acting Senior Sergeant Andrew Mortimore confirmed there had been a sudden death at the campus.

The death is not suspicious and the matter has been referred to the coroner.

The Rotokauri campus is one of Wintec's three sites and is home to the centre for trades, engineering and industrial design, sport science and human performance, a student training restaurant and a student village.

A Wintec spokesperson said she had been told to refer any inquiries to police.
