Cyclist hit by car in Auckland

A cyclist suffered minor back injuries when they were hit by a car in Mt Eden this evening.

Emergency services were called to the incident at the corner of Mt Eden Rd and Normanby Rd just after 6.30pm.

Northern police communications Inspector Chris Tate said the woman was taken by ambulance to Auckland City Hospital with minor back injuries.

The road was cleared by 6.50pm.

Herald social media producer Tessa Stockdale earlier said there ware at least three police cars and two ambulances on site and traffic was being diverted.

A blue bubble taxi was pulled up onto the curb but Stockdale could not see the driver.
