A 25-year-old Mt Albert man has appeared in the Auckland District Court this afternoon charged with murdering 24-year-old Nathan Pukeroa.
Mr Pukeroa, 24, died in the early hours of last Thursday morning on the street outside a home he was visiting on Renton Rd.
A second man, 22, was seriously injured by the same attacker and the accused was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The accused was granted name suppression by Judge Ajit Singh.
He was remanded in custody until December 24, when he will receive a psychiatric assessment, before his second appearance at the High Court at Auckland on January 27.
