A body has been found on a popular north Auckland Beach.
Police confirmed the body was located by a member of the public on Orewa beach at about 7:30am this morning.

The 31-year-old Japanese man was found by a member of the public just after 7:30am yesterday morning.

The man's family have been informed and police are offering assistance.
Investigations into the circumstances are ongoing, but at this stageit appears likely the death will be referred to the Coroner, police said.
