A man has been critically injured after being struck by a car in Tokoroa today.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Cramond Road, about midday, a police spokeswoman said.
The 20-year-old was flown to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.
Police were investigating the circumstances which led to his injuries and were speaking with a woman who was known to the injured man in relation to the incident, the spokeswoman said.
Cramond Road had been cordoned off and was likely to remain closed for some time while a scene examination was carried out by detectives and serious crash investigators.
