Fire crews are battling a fire at an Auckland primary school classroom today.

The fire service was called to Mt Eden Normal School on Poronui Street about 2pm, northern fire shift manager Paul Radden said.

The blaze was centred in the roof space above a 30m by 40m classroom.

Three fire crews and an aerial appliance were at the scene, Mr Radden said.

No injuries had been reported.
