Four arrested after man loses eyesight in assault

Four men have been arrested over an assault at a North Shore pub that left a person blind in one eye and another with a deep cut to his scalp.

The assault happened at Deep Creek Brewing Co in Browns Bay late on May 3.

A 25-year old-North Shore man has been charged with maiming with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault and a 24-year-old Waimauku man has been charged with assault.

A 31-year-old Stanmore Bay man has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and a 20-year-old Stanmore Bay man with assault.

It was unclear when the men would appear in court.
