Fire crews leave Prebbleton blaze

Fire crews have left the scene of a blaze that caused major damage at Prebbleton in Canterbury.

150 hectares of land was burned and several homes were lost in the fire on Thursday.

Fire crews have finished dampening down hot spots and burying smouldering hay.

Selwyn fire incident controller Douglas Marshall says crews have just packed up and left.

He says other fires that have ripped across Canterbury this week are also all out.
