Half a dozen men will appear in Rotorua District Court tomorrow after being charged in connection with a large fight last month which resulted in one man being hospitalised when he was hit by a car.

The men, aged 20 to 34, have all been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and criminal damage, a police spokeswoman said.

One of the men has also been charged with assault.

Police were called to a Koutu Rd address on September 30 following reports of a large group of people fighting.

During the fight a 34-year-old man was hit by a car and treated for serious injuries in hospital.

The investigation into that specific incident was ongoing and the assault charge related to a separate assault on a man, the spokeswoman said.

Police have not ruled out further arrests.
