Police searching for a woman missing since her vehicle crashed into the Waikato River have asked landowners bordering the river to look out for suspicious objects in the water.
Sergeant Craig Singer, officer in charge of the Hamilton Missing Persons Unit, said police had already searched by boat for 40-year-old Eunki Kim, whose car crashed off a bridge two weeks ago.
``As water levels fluctuate with the heavy rains over recent days, we're asking landowners to keep an eye out for objects of concern and if they notice anything to contact police,'' Mr Singer said.
Police also want to speak with one of the original witnesses to the crash who left the scene before officers could interview him on June 6.
Mr Singer said the witness was a man believed to be in his 40s who was driving a silver or white Mazda 323.
``We believe it was this person who flagged down the witness who reported seeing a person struggling in the water. If you are this person or know who he is, police would like to speak to you as we build up a clearer picture of events prior to and during the crash,'' Mr Singer said.
Anyone with information should contact Hamilton Central Police on 07 858 6200 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
