A Christchurch property developer has been hit with nine fraud charges for allegedly lodging forged and deceptive Earthquake Commission claims.
Police said the 41-year old woman allegedly submitted forged and altered documents, along with photographs of properties she owned in Main South Road and Ferry Road, in support of her EQC claims.
Her claims, which totalled about $20,000, were lodged after both the September 2010 and the February 2011 Canterbury earthquakes.
The woman was charged with five counts of using forged documents, two charges of altering documents with intent to deceive and two charges of using a document with intent to obtain a pecuniary advantage, police said.
She will appear in Christchurch District Court on March 8.
