Police have this morning resumed the search for a woman who jumped off a bridge into the water in Raglan last night.
The woman was seen walking along the Wainui Bridge about 9.47pm when a grey sedan car stopped beside her.
Police said a verbal argument took place before the car left.
The woman then jumped from the bridge into the water.
The car returned to the bridge, where it stopped at the southern end before driving off again after five minutes.
Police, Coastguard, surf lifesavers and search and rescue teams searched the water and surrounding land for about two-and-a-half hours but could not find the woman.
It was not known whether she left the water, which was near high tide at the time.
Police said this morning they are continuing to make inquiries this morning and are keen to speak to the grey sedan's driver, the woman who jumped from the bridge or anyone who has have information as to the identity of these two people.
