Cash-strapped families locking fridges

Cash-strapped parents are resorting to locking fridges to ensure meagre food supplies last.

As tough economic times continue, low income families are doing it tough and are doing what they can to survive.

Peter Sykes of the Family Service Centre says low wage families are the new face of poverty.

He says working families don't fit easily into the tax or WINZ systems people are struggling with increased rents and living costs.
