A 2-year-old boy has head injuries after falling two metres from a bridge near a remote cafe in Golden Bay.
The toddler, who is from Wellington, plunged from the walking bridge above the Kaituna River at about 2.20pm.
The family of four were visiting the Naked Possum Cafe on the Rockville-Collingwood road.
He was treated by the Summit rescue helicopter's St John advanced paramedic, who was assisted by Collingwood volunteer fire fighters and Takaka St John.
He was then flown to hospital at 3.30pm with his father.
