Thousands of students will be catching up on some sleep today as secondary teachers continue to role out strike action.

Teachers union, the Post Primary Teachers Association (PPTA), continue their strike action today by rostering home year nine students, followed by year 10 students on November 23 and year nine pupils again on December 1.

PPTA president Kate Gainsford said there were no talks going on at the moment with the Ministry of Education.

Teachers called off planned strike action last Thursday to allow negotiations with the ministry to continue, but "we haven't seen that at all", Ms Gainsford said.

The PPTA's three pivotal demands revolved around teacher conditions, including class size and hours, security of the collective agreement without clawbacks, and a 4 per cent pay rise.
