Auckland toddler killed in driveway

A 22-month-old girl has been killed in a driveway by a vehicle driven by a family member in south Auckland today.

The incident happened about 2pm in the suburb of Weymouth in Manukau City, Sergeant Graeme Harris said.

The driver was unaware that the toddler had left the house to follow an older sibling.

Family members contacted ambulance, but the toddler died at the scene.

Police Serious Crash members were talking to the family to establish what happened.

Members of the wider family have not yet been informed, Mr Harris said.
