SPCA seizes Tamihere's cats

As if upsetting women, Jews and his boss is not enough, John Tamihere is now on the wrong side of cat lovers.

The Tamaki Makaurau MP is in trouble for failing to care for two cats. The SPCA says the animals were neglected and it has taken them into care.

SPCA Auckland chief executive Bob Kerridge said complaints were received that the cats had been abandoned on Mr Tamihere's property for eleven days.

The animal welfare organisation eventually made contact with Mr Tamihere and the cats were signed over.

Mr Kerridge says a warning has been issued to the MP.
