Police have arrested three men in relation to a series of burglaries in Mangonui.
Two men, aged 18, were arrested last week and charged with burglary. One of the men was also charged with theft, theft from a car and unlawfully taking a motor vehicle. After the arrests, police made further inquiries to find a third alleged offender.
Their inquiries led them to Auckland and three members of the Far North Area Prevention Team (APT) there on another matter helped search for the man.
With the help of police staff from Manurewa, the APT officers spent two days searching 10 addresses and found the man in a car on the driveway of a Manurewa address. A 25-year-old Auckland man has been charged with burglary and unlawfully taking a motor vehicle.
Far North area prevention manager Senior Sergeant Chris McLellan it was a great team effort between Manurewa and Northland staff to find the man.
