Northern Advocate newspapers have been spun, dyed, ironed and transformed into fabric that will be used to create garments at NorthTec.
NorthTec fashion students have been working flat out to create fabric that will be used in their wearable arts competition.
Fashion tutor Edele McDonald said students had been thinking outside the box for unique ways to treat the paper to turn it into wearable art.
Hannah Nelson has cut strips of the Northern Advocate, keeping the centre piece of each page with the colour bar on it.
She is sewing the strips together then baking the paper in oil, which makes it a glossy colour, and more robust.
