The New Zealand dollar drifted off yesterday, following the Australian dollar on its slow downward journey.
The kiwi closed the local session at 45.03USc.
Philip Lindberg of Deutsche Bank said the range was 45.05/45.28c, on very little volume.
"There was not terribly much to get excited about. There was nothing substantial, one of the quieter days that we've had. Given the range, that probably summed up why it was pretty quiet - there weren't too many people doing a lot on the day.
"They were watching the aussie, and the aussie's basically drifted lower and the kiwi's slowly tagging behind," Mr Lindberg said.
There is no local data this week to fire up the kiwi so it will continue to be driven by moves overseas.
