The Redwood Home and Hospital in Rotorua has been sold to Principal Healthcare, a joint venture between AMP Life and Omega Worldwide.
Anthony Beverley, head of property for AMP Henderson Global Investors, said Principal Healthcare now had $15.4 million of assets in New Zealand.
Resort sales
Nine luxury apartments to be built at Clearwater Golf Resort on the outskirts of Christchurch are being put on the market.
The apartments are on sale for between $595,000 and $650,000.
The $80 million resort, 10 minutes from Christchurch Airport, is owned by a private company whose principal shareholders are South Island investors Howard Paterson and John Darby.
Thailand move
The Professionals Real Estate Group has moved into Thailand.
The group already has 400 offices in New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea and Singapore.
It has sold rights to its training and computer systems and logos to Thailand real estate agent Khun Apichart Archadej, and plans to open up to 20 offices in the first 12 months.
Island woes
Siemens AG, the electronics giant that has sold Infineon Technologies AG and Epcos AG to the public, is facing its most difficult task yet: getting rid of Goerlitz, an island it owns off the German coast.
The 100ha island, obtained as part of a takeover, has no place in the new lean and mean Siemens, but no buyers have emerged.
Home in Houston
The Houston mansion of the late Baron Enrico di Portanova, who inherited a fortune from the oil business and was known for saying that the best things in life were "sun, sex and spaghetti," is for sale.
The six-bedroom home has been listed for $US4.5 ($10.47) million.
