The historic T&G building behind Smith & Caugheys in central Auckland is for sale.
The 1920s brick building on the corner of Wellesley St and Elliott St has a Category B (now Category 2) Historic Places Trust classification, meaning it cannot be demolished or altered significantly without resource consent from the Auckland City Council.
With its kauri floors, pressed-steel ceilings, large arched windows and high ceiling stud, the building would particularly suit boutique-style offices, says Bayleys agent John Halstead.
Concrete Properties, a private property investment company, owns the five-level building.
It had a capital value of $5.8 million in the late 1990s.
Also for sale alongside the T&G building is Reslau House, which does not have a historic classification and is on a separate title.
