On a firm course proper, 13m out, King Keitel strode 1600m well within himself, the last 1200 in 1:21 and 600 in 39.4.
On a perfect plough, race rival Call Minder covered 1200m in 1:19, the 1000 in 1:4.2 and 600 in 38. She, too, was not pressed for time.
Selenium showed her usual dash over 800m in 50, the 600 in 35.6. Kensington Flyer looked an improver when shading Mi Jade over 1200 in 1:15, the 600 in 36.
Spottswoode led Catherine and Jardaak after 1200m in 1:15.8, the 600 in 36.2. Cypress Bay covered the same ground in 1:16.8 and 37.2.
Te Akau Tudor returned 1:15.5 for 1200m, the 600 in 36.8. Oregon Power and Spritza matched strides once round, the 1200 in 1:15 and 600 in 37.6.
Rip It Up and Kaipara Prince took 1:18 for 1200m and 36.8 from the 600. Jaiapeno sprinted 1000 in 1:4.4, the 600 in 36.8.
Stella Artois dashed 1000m on the plough in 1:0, the 600 in 36.5. Shadow Man and Cheeky Baby covered 1000 on a fast all-weather track in 1:2, the 600 in 37.6.
At Takanini, Sunline attracted much interest when galloping on a deep, slow plough. The champion was not fully extended to run 1000m in 1:5.5, the 600 in 39.6.
Maiden Kakaho ran a first-rate 1200m in 1:16.7, the 600 in 38.5. Evel Tanker ran the quickest 1000 in 1:2.3 when leading Kashani's Pride, the last 600 in 39.3.
Centennial cut out 800m in 50, the 600 in 38.
Close But No Cigar and Seize The Moment excelled over 1000m on a good plough at Cambridge in 1:0.2, the 600 in 36.8.
Beacon and Cossack Affair hit out freely, too, over 1000m in 1:2, the 600 in 38. Grey Legend did 1000 in 1:4.8, the 600 in 39.8.
Fendahl and British Version did well to run 1200m in 1:17.8, the 600 in 36.8. Gold Pearl travelled strongly over 1000 in 1:2.5, the 600 in 37.5.
Indian Chant and Diabo Love were untroubled to run 1000m in 1:2.8, the 600 in 37. Cool Sound also returned 1:2.5 for 1000, the 600 in 37.2. Regal Krona was not extended over 1000 in 1:6.2, the 600 in 38.2.
On the sand, Auckland Breeders' Stakes candidate Hello Dolly breezed over 600m in 40.
Party Queen and Herbie showed their fitness at Te Awamutu, taking 1:2 for 1000m on a good plough, the 600 in 36.5.
Winged Foot and Sequel were slightly slower over 1000m in 1:2.8 but sharper from the 600 in 35.2. The Immortal One and Mr Brook covered 2000, the final 1000 in 1:4.1 and 600 in 37.6.
At Te Rapa, Te Atatu Chap showed he was holding his form well when running once round on a firm course proper, the last 1200m in 1:20 and 600 in 40.6.
Arlanda hit out well over 1200m in 1:23.7, the 600 in 41.8. Ismailia was travelling smoothly at the end of 1200 in 1:18.7, the 600 in 41.3.
Samboa ran 800m with Blush Pink in 53.3, the 600 in 41.1. Esther Mary showed speed over 1200 on the plough in 1:13.1, the 600 strongly in 36.
Noble Prospect worked boldly over 1000m in 1:2.6, the 600 in 36.8. Midnite Orb and Desert Ace worked encouragingly in preparation for their local meeting, taking 36 for the last 600m on the fibre track at Pukekohe.
Famous Entrant covered 1000m on the sand in 1:8, the 800 in 55.8 and 600 in 42.5. Eastminster sped over 600 in 39.1.
Irish Silk did well to run 800m on the fibre track in 51.8, the 600 in 37.5. River Reach did 800 in 56.7, quickening from the 600 in 40.2. Black Drum covered 1000 in 1:12, the 800 in 55.5 and 600 in 40.4.
Icey Red and Sir Albert impressed over 1000m on a good plough at Avondale in 1:3.1, the 600 in 36.3.
Sir Albert trailed slightly at the finish and blew hard afterwards.
