Notorious perfectionist Kanye West has stormed off stage during a performance in Canada in what's been described as "the best mic drop of all time".
The rap giant was performing Good Life at the Pam Am Games Closing Ceremony in Toronto when his microphone cut out midway through his performance.
Rather than continue through the technical difficulties, a frustrated West reacted by throwing the microphone high into the sky and storming off-stage just 13 minutes into his set.
One Twitter punter described as "the best mic drop of all time".
However, TV and online audiences had a different experience and were able to hear West's vocals right up to the point where he walked off stage, the Huffington Post reported.
Despite the malfunctions, the show was well received as the rapper performed his hits Stronger, Power and Black Skinhead while wearing his trademark Air Yeezy 350 Boost sneakers.
The Olympic Network for Canadians, CBC Olympics, tweeted about the incident shortly afterwards.
As an American, West had already been a controversial choice for the closing ceremony. 20,000 people signed an online petition calling for a Toronto musician, like Drake, to perform instead.
