Gotye's hit Somebody That I Used to Know has been named Britain's biggest-selling single of 2012.

The track, which also features New Zealand singer Kimbra, has sold 1.28 million copies, according to The Official Charts Company.

Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe is runner-up, followed by We Are Young by fun. featuring Janelle Monae, Titanium by David Guetta featuring Sia and Nicki Minaj's Starships.

However, charts bosses insist a late entry could still break into the list as December is usually the biggest month for record sales.
