Amid the graceful silhouettes, the delicately beaded sequins, and the slicker than slick 'dos that graced this year's Emmy Awards red carpet, there were some outfits that will go down in history for all the wrong reasons.

In no particular order, here are the biggest "what was she thinking?" looks:

1. Anna Chlumsky

It's the colour of ham, the texture of a bad rash and could have made a lovely bed spread in the 50s.

When you've botched the colour and the shape of your outfit, there's really no saving it.

2. Amy Poehler

It's the kind of thing you might expect to see on Kathy Bates, or Helen Mirren, not sassy Poehler.

Perhaps if she'd ditched the poncho aspect of the dress, things may have looked a little more chic.

3. Hari Nef

Why would you go for a pretty floral print or swirling sequins when you can wear a dress with sad cherubs on it, right Hari?
