Prince William had better be careful.

It's one thing for the Duchess of Cambridge to joke about her cooking skills, but it's a totally different ball game when he gets stuck in too.

The Royal couple were chatting with some of the five Michelin-star chefs on hand at a gala yesterday when the Duchess self-deprecated, "William has to put up with my cooking most of the time".

And then without missing a beat, Prince William chimed in with, "It's the reason I'm so skinny".

The gala dinner, which was hosted by the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley (catchy title), helped raise funds for East Anglia's Children's Hospices.

According to People magazine 80 guests attended the fancy dinner which featured menu items such as: Squid ink cracker with Morston smoked salmon, scallop ceviche, wild sea bass, loin of Houghton venison with summer beetroot puree and Norfolk raspberries, strawberries, cider and blueberry coulis.
