The book I love most is ... Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates. Actually, anything by Tom Robbins, to be honest.

The book I'm reading right now is ... More Than Just a Game by Chuck Korr and Marvin Close. It is the story of the football league organised by the political prisoners of Robben Island during their apartheid-era incarceration.

The book I'd like to read next is ... Haruki Murakami's latest, Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage.

My favourite bookshop is ...

Timeout Bookstore in Mt Eden. It is perfect in every way.

The book that changed me is ... No book has changed me, but books have certainly inspired me. I love sports-writing anthologies and Sports Illustrated: Fifty Years of Great Writing is one I read and re-read.

The book I wish I'd never read is ... The Cold Six Thousand by James Ellroy. It takes an evil kind of genius to write something like this.

Scotty Stevenson is presenting from the Glasgow Commonwealth Games on Sky Sport channels 3-8 until tomorrow.
