Amy Adams says "bad things happen" when she waxes.
The redhead has such sensitive skin that the slightest abrasive beauty treatment irritates it.
Adams has managed to find a few products that are gentle enough to use and so she sticks by these religiously.
"La Mer has fixed some bad problems," Adams told Allure about her favourite face cream.
"I can't wax because bad things happen. So I shave. I use Eucerin Calming Body Wash instead of shaving cream, and I don't get razor burn anymore. It's not its intended use, but I want to keep talking about it, because I'm afraid they'll discontinue it."
The Man of Steel star has the ability to transform convincingly. Her plain features are the reason she can look wildly different from one movie to the next.
"I have no features without make-up," Adams said cheerfully.
"I am pale. I have blonde lashes. You could just paint my face, it's like a blank canvas. It can be great for what I do."
Adams appears on the cover of the beauty magazine's July edition where she shows off a glamorous make-up and hair look.
Make-up artist Fulvia Farolfi used a golden pink eyeshadow swept along her lids and under the lower lash line, with plenty of black eye liner and lashings of mascara to complete her flattering appearance.
"[This look], is all about the eyes with an accent of graphic black liner," Farolfi said.
On-set hairstylist Ken O'Rourke styled Adams' red hair into loose brushed out waves to give a traditional volumised Hollywood glam look.
