Canterbury pacer Panky's Pacer is looking for victory in tomorrow's Reefton Cup so that he can snare the $20,000 Postie Plus West Coast bonus.
Anyone thinking the four-year-old may be a little sluggish after having to race through the mud at Patterson Park in Westport on Thursday better think again, says the horse's trainer Robert Dunn.
"Ricky (May) said he actually did it a lot easier yesterday than what he did in the cup on Tuesday," Dunn said yesterday.
"He wouldn't have blown a match out."
The $20,000 bonus is available to any horse which can win at Westport and Reefton.
Besides Panky's Pacer, trotter Dram Of Pernod is also shooting for success and should both horses win they will share the $20,000.
Last year stablemates The Tough Nut and Extraordinaire had to share the booty.
May drove both and he's confident that Panky's Pacer can give him another big payday.
Panky's Pacer's six starts on grass have resulted in five wins and a third.
