Bicycle track gets off to a flying start

There were plenty of thrills and yep, just the occasional spill, as more than 100 eager bike riders headed for the Napier Pump Track on Marine Parade which was officially opened on Saturday morning. Riders of all ages were clearly excited to take to the landscaped track where as well as pedalling, the action of leaping and landing over the many jumps gives the bike thrust. Photographer Duncan Brown, pumped up at the idea of checking it out himself, jumped in and got these shots on the day.
