While the Hawke Bay horizon will not see a cruising behemoth like the 348m Ovation of the Seas again this season, two other sizeable liners will be calling over the next couple of months.
On February 20 the Celebrity Solstice, which back in 2014 was the largest liner to have tied up at Napier Port, will arrive carrying more than 3000 passengers.
While 47,000 tonnes shy of the Ovation of the Seas, and 34m shorter, it still clocks in at an eye-catching 121,878 tonnes and with a length of 314m.
Also lined up to arrive, on February 6 and 22, as well as March 25, is the 113,561 tonne, 290m Emerald Princess.
It will also be carrying about 3000 passengers on each visit.
