United secure major sponsor

Hawke's Bay United announced today it had re-signed Kinetic Electrical as its major sponsor partner for the next two playing seasons.

Gavin Streeter, manager of Kinetic Electrical Hawke's Bay, said: "It's with great pleasure, and a massive chunk of provincial pride, that Kinetic Electrical renews its sponsorship of Hawke's Bay United."

He said soccer was a great team sport and it was encouraging to see school-aged children getting out there and giving it a go.

"Having Hawke's Bay United compete in the ASB Premiership certainly helps to motivate and inspire these kids.

"And the success of players like Tom Biss shows there is a pathway they can follow, from school, to local club, to Hawke's Bay United, to the Phoenix and of course then to the All Whites."

Kinetic Electrical became the major sponsor for Bay United last season.

"Kinetic Electrical gained some great exposure from the franchise last year and this partnership is a great way of putting back into the local community and into local football" Mr Streeter said.

HB United general manager Anthony Floyd said the deal was a major boost.

"It is fantastic for the franchise to have the support of Kinetic Electrical for another two seasons.

"We are receiving great feedback and support from them and other local businesses, which is vital to remaining in the national premiership.

"We're excited about the two-year support by Kinetic Electrical and we are also in negotiations with another high-profile business, which we hope to announce prior to our season launch in a fortnight".

Mr Floyd asked the Bay public to support sports sponsors when they could, because they were giving something back to the community, as well as backing the soccer team this summer.

"It's a great afternoon out. Come on the Bay."

The ASB Premiership kicks off on November 4 with Bay United away to Waikato in Hamilton and then hosting Youngheart Manawatu at the Bluewater Stadium, Park Island, from 2pm on Sunday, November 11, for their first game at home.
