The Australian PGA Championship gets underway at RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast tomorrow with 10 Kiwi players listed in the field.
Co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and the European Tour, the tournament is headlined by Masters Champion and World Number 11 Sergio Garcia, Greg Norman medal winner Marc Leishman and 2013 Masters Champion Adam Scott.
However, there is a good list of New Zealand professionals who will look steel glory from their grasp which include:
Ryan Fox, Mike Hendry, Mark Brown, Josh Geary, Daniel Pearce, Ben Campbell, Michael Long, Brad Shilton, Kieran Muir and David Smail.
This will also be Josh Gearys debut European Tour event after earning his tour card just a few weeks ago. He embarks on an exciting new chapter in his career all starting tomorrow afternoon.
His new European Tour buddy Ryan Fox returns Australasia after a sensational opening season with his full tour card where he finished the year in 34th in the Race to Dubai standings and raked in $2,000,000 NZD in prize money.
Mark Brown and Ben Campbell will be looking to build on their impressive outings at the recent Australian Open completing the event in tied 6th and tied 15th respectively. Campbell also enjoyed the opportunity to play alongside world number two, Jordan Spieth on the final day which is something that wont be forgotten anytime soon.
Tee times are much earlier with the lack of day light savings in Australia seeing the first ball struck at 6:00am local time. Garcia and Scott will be off at 6:10.
