Shoppers at Sylvia Park will today get a glimpse of the first New Zealand store to be opened by popular global fashion chain Zara.
Zara bosses revealed last year that they were set to open a store at Sylvia Park.
But the exact location in the popular Auckland shopping mall has been kept a closely guarded secret - until this morning anyway.
Zara's building team worked overnight to erect new storefront branding in time for this morning's grand reveal. The 2528sqm store - constructed by Kiwi Property - is in the mall's fashion precinct, opposite Glassons and Country Road outlets.
Shoppers will find it hard to miss branding today at the store - which is set to open to the public in spring. Zara gets the keys to the store on Monday.
Investment group Kiwi Property has invested $11.5 million to create Zara's new store in an eight-month development programme.
"The new site has an extensive store front five times the size of one of our standard fashion retailers," Karl Retief, general manager of Kiwi Property, said.
"Sylvia Park with Zara will offer shoppers a world-class experience. We are always looking to innovate to ensure we're delivering the very best experience for our shoppers.
"We are thrilled to be chosen as the first choice of the New Zealand retail centres for this outstanding brand."
A number of new retailers have opened at Sylvia Park in recent months, including Lush and Converse.
H&M, Nike and Kiehls are coming soon.
