A 41-year-old man has appeared in the Otahuhu District Court today charged with the murder of Mangere liquor store owner Shiu Prasad.
The unemployed Mangere labourer is also facing charges of being armed with offensive weapons and robbing Mr Prasad of $180.
Detective Sergeant Gerry Whitley says there were many people around at the time of the killing and police still want other people to come forward.
He says detectives are still examining the liquor store for forensic evidence.
There are now 53 police working on the investigation.
