How Sex and the City's Kim Cattrall could have been a Kiwi

Actress Kim Cattrall is in New Zealand today and our "gorgeous" country is making her lament missing out on living here.

It was, at one point, a possibility. Talking to NZME Focus, Cattrall revealed that she almost became a Kiwi.

Her father immigrated to New Zealand before she was born, but her family eventually settled in Canada.

"But when I come here I think, 'Oh wow I really missed out', it's pretty amazing," the star said.

Cattrall - who is visiting our shores to judge the Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition, presented by Specsavers - says beauty isn't just in the way someone looks.

"Maybe it's where they are in life or a very strong sense of love for one's self - of self-esteem. I think I'm reacting, as most people are, to what that person is giving out. That truly makes them beautiful."

The star also shared her advice for those looking for love on Tinder, quoting one of her favourite lines from her Sex and the City character, Samantha: "I love you, but I love me more".

"You gotta take care of you first."
