If you thought Broods' new song sounds a little like Lorde, there's a reason for that.
The song Heartlines debuted on Apple Music overnight and showcased a dark moody sensibility not too dissimilar to New Zealand's biggest pop export.
Turns out Lorde had a hand in the making of the song, the latest from Nelson siblings Caleb and Georgia Nott.
Broods had been hyping the song up earlier this week, posting the lyrics to the song on Twitter.

Heartlines will be available on Broods' second album Conscious, due out June 24.
The first single was Free, which featured a Hunger Games-inspired video.
