Fans have just 48 hours left to register for free tickets to one of Shihad's three free shows taking place next month to celebrate the launch of New Zealand Music Month.

The Kiwi rockers are kicking the annual event off with an ambitious touring schedule, playing shows in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland in one day.

The band will perform 50-minute sets in Christchurch at CPIT at midday, Wellington's Meow at 4.30pm, and Auckland's Powerstation at 9pm.

All three concerts will be free for fans, thanks to iHeartRadio and 2degrees. Fans can register to win tickets through iHeartRadio.

Frontman Jon Toogood said the band wants to support the event, which has helped them throughout their 20-plus year career.

"When Shihad started out there was hardly any New Zealand music on the radio and it was almost impossible to get shows if you were playing your own music. Things have changed a great deal since then and the scene in New Zealand is all the better for it."
