The force of Star Wars is simply too strong for fantasy flick Ready Player One.

The film's released date will move to March 30, 2018 to avoid clashing with the Star Wars sequel. Disney announced last month Star Wars: Episode VIII will shift from May 2017 to December 15, the same date as Ready Player One, Variety reports.

The Spielberg film will air during Easter where no major movies are scheduled.

Although Spielberg's name will most certainly guarantee a grand audience for the film adaptation, the movie cannot compare to the numbers tallied in the seventh Star Wars movie.

Last year's Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens was a box office success, making its way to the third highest grossing movie behind Titanic and Avatar.

According to Variety, Warner Bros also moved an untitled DC Comics film, rumoured to be a film version of The Flash, from March 23, 2018 to March 16, 2018.
