Fans can get a closer look at the characters and set of the upcoming Batman v Superman flick following the release of new photos.
In one of the six pictures, Ben Affleck (Batman) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) look cosy at a black-tie event as their non-superhero alter egos.
Affleck described it as a "Bond-y sex scene" about "two people who are pretending to be two different people who each know the secrets of the other person".
Affleck told Entertainment Weekly that he plays an older version of the dark knight.
"He's at the end of his run and maybe the end of his life. There's this sort of world-weariness to it," the actor said.
"He's on the verge of being swallowed up by the anger and the rage that we see haunt this character."
On the subject of being the latest actor to the role, Affleck made some Shakespearean comparisons.
"Batman is basically the American version of Hamlet. We accept that he's played by actors with different interpretations."
Henry Cavill also appears in the shots as a handsome Superman. In one picture he is facing off against Batman, in another he looks noble, staring off into the distance as a crowd of onlookers reach out to touch him.
"I like to think that Man of Steel was the perspective of the world from Clark, Kal-El, looking at the world and trying to exist with in it," Cavill said.

"Batman v Superman is definitely more mankind's perspective of Superman."
Perhaps the most surprising picture is that of Jesse Eisenberg, who sports lustrous, flowing, strawberry-blonde locks in his role as baddie Lex Luthor.
The cast of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are set to appear at San Diego Comic Con next week, where more about the highly anticipated film is expected to be revealed.
