Hobbit star Martin Freeman will make his superhero film debut in Captain America: Civil War.
Freeman, who starred as Bilbo Baggins in the Hobbit trilogy, joins a growing cast that includes Chris Evans as Captain America and Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man for the 2016 film.
Marvel released the news on its website, but gave little away about Freeman's role in the film.
"From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim in The Office, Martin's range from the dramatic to the comedic has consistently impressed us," the film's producer Kevin Feige said.
"We couldn't be more honoured or excited to have such a talented actor join (the film)."
