Finance report confirms no new music from Adele

Fans' hopes of hearing a new Adele record this year have been firmly dashed, as her record company reveals she won't be releasing any new music.

The chart topping singer had earlier sparked rumours she had a new album in the pipeline, when she sent this cryptic tweet on her birthday.

"Bye bye 25... See you again later in the year."

Speculation was rampant that she was referring to a new album, titled '25', following her previous records '19' and '21'.

But a financial report for the singer's record label XL Recordings has revealed it's not to be.

"There will not be a further new release by Adele during 2014 and consequently there will be a fall in XL's turnover and profits," the New York Times quoted from the report.

Despite the lack of new music, Adele still earns more than $160,000 a day.
