Tom Cruise has seen his daughter for the first time since he reached a divorce settlement with Katie Holmes.
The 50-year-old actor flew to New York City to see six-year-old Suri and was seen carrying her into a Manhattan hotel as she clutched a white teddy bear.
An onlooker said: "Tom looked really happy."
The visit comes 10 days after Cruise and Holmes agreed the legal terms of their split on July 7 and the Hollywood heartthrob had been "dying to see" his little girl.
Shooting on the actor's latest movie Oblivion wrapped in California on Sunday and he made sure he was in New York to see his child the first opportunity he got.
It is believed Cruise hadn't seen Suri in person since mid-June although the pair had spoken frequently on the phone and via video chat over the internet during that time.
Holmes split from Cruise in June after five years of marriage, leaving the couple's Los Angeles home and moving to New York City with Suri.
Although full details of the divorce settlement were kept confidential, it is believed the 33-year-old actress was given primary custody of Suri with Cruise being granted regular visitation rights.
Despite the split, the former couple are determined to make their meetings when they collect and pick-up Suri as amicable as possible for her sake.
A source said: "They both know they are going to have to make decisions together regarding Suri for many, many years. And they know she loves both her parents."
Meanwhile, Holmes and Suri were involved in a car accident.
The pair were riding in the back of a black Mercedes sedan when it was struck by a dump truck in New York.
No one was reported hurt in the incident, which onlookers say was minor.
One source said: "It was nothing major other than the fact that it was Katie Holmes."
Police arrived on the scene and noted the actress' chauffeur-driven vehicle had sustained a large dent and several scratches to the rear driver side panel after the Volvo truck - from Classic Sanitation Recycling New York Corp - had apparently backed into the luxury vehicle.
Holmes and Suri were not seen at the scene of the crash.
It was recently revealed she has enrolled Suri into New York's Convent of the Sacred Heart School - where former pupils include Lady Gaga and Paris Hilton - because the actress wants her daughter to have a Catholic education, rather than being taught at a Scientology school as the Mission: Impossible star desired.
