Global news: Oil spill sabotage claims challenged

The investigation process into oil spills in the Niger Delta has been challenged recently by Amnesty International and the Centre for Environment, Human Rights and Development (CEHRD), alleging inconsistencies in Shell's claims about sabotage.

An oil spill from a pipeline from the Bodo creek area last June was claimed by Shell to be due to sabotage, while Amnesty experts say it was from corrosion and poor maintenance
