A man who allegedly sparked a high-speed chase, tried to hijack a car from a woman parked in a Hamilton supermarket and shot a police officer in the foot faces nine new charges.
Zeb Lee Sonny McCallion appeared at Hamilton District Court on audio-visual link AVL from Waikeria Prison this morning.
The 35-year-old is now facing 22 charges.
His lawyer Charles Bean asked for the case to be put off until September 18 so he could speak with McCallion following police laying the nine new charges earlier today.
Judge Peter Spiller agreed, telling McCallion he "faced a large number of charges".
