Review: Russell Baillie
Despite getting something of a big push a few years back, American-born, Bermuda-raised and British-based wistful singer-songwriter Heather Nova hasn't yet made the leap to serious contender. But those who still count themselves as fans after albums Oyster and Blow should find something that appeals in this recorded-in-Germany live collection. Though apart from the Teutonic cheering and Nova's banter in between, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the likes of Walk This World and the Sundays-ish London Rain apart from the studio originals. Still, it does include her purring, sex-changed version of Springsteen's I'm On Fire as an encore which, while reminding she's got quite a voice, also shows that her best song is someone else's.
