A billioniare businesswoman has given birth to twin girls at the age of 53.

Margarita Louis-Dreyfus is said to be "doing well" after having the twins - her second set.

The chairman of Swiss trading house Louis Dreyfus Commodities reportedly intends to take a brief pause before returning to work full-time at the end of April.

The father of the girls is Philipp Hildebrand, 52, former head of the Swiss central bank.

The Russian-born businesswoman, the cousin of Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus and owner of French football club Olympique de Marseille, had three boys including twins with her late husband Robert Louis-Dreyfus, who died of leukaemia in 2009.

She is ranked the 171st richest person in the world by Forbes.
